It is with great regret that we at the Twitter Poker Tour have announced an indefinite suspension of the Twitter Poker Tour Championship Series on Full Tilt Poker. In the wake of the recent Federal Indictments of the heads of Full Tilt Poker, PokerStars, and Absolute Poker, as well as the 5 online poker payment processors, we feel that this is the safest course of action.
The History of the Twitter Poker Tour
The Twitter Poker Tour began in October of 2008 as a small, one table No Limit Hold’em event among some close Twitter friends. It didn’t take long for it to grown to two tables and beyond as word started to spread. With the addition of sponsors and the word-of-mouth from our players, we have grown to between 50 and 60 regular weekly participants, with peaks of 100 from time to time.
The TPT has regular visits from Full Tilt Poker Red Pro’s both on the tables and on air for TPT Live which broadcasts weekly at 9:30 PM ET. Hosted by Paul Ellis (@coolwhipflea) and Geoff Manning (@cprpoker), the TPT Live show covers the action on the felt as well as the news bits of the week in the poker world.
