<p>Thursday night the 3rd event of the <strong><em><a href="http://twitterpokertour.com/tptcs/leaderboard/">Twitter Poker Tour Championship Series</a></em></strong> got underway and 55 players found their way to the <a href="http://www.fulltiltpoker.com/">online poker</a> felt for the usual $5+1 No Limit Hold’em Double Stack tournament to crown the 3rd TPTCS Champion and gain more points for the <em><a href="http://twitterpokertour.com/tptcs/leaderboard/">TPTCS Player of The Series Leaderboard</a></em>.  When all was said and done, it was LessonsRXtra (@MarieLizette) that defeated GoofyRooster (@_Desperado) to finish with all of the chips and earned the top prize, along with 127.57 Leaderboard points to take the lead as the Player of The Series.  Congratulations Marie-Lizette!</p>
<p>2006 World Series of Poker Player of the Year <strong><em><a href="http://www.fulltiltpoker.com/jeffMadsen.php">Jeff Madsen</a></em></strong> (@JeffMadsenobv) hosted the event and joined the gang on the TPT Live Show to talk about his first World Series of Poker, and everything else that’s been going on in his poker life since he made that huge splash on the poker circuit 5 years ago.  His TPTCS Tournament was a roller coaster that ended up with the money getting in preflop with K-7 vs. the K-9 of jetmekk (@Barry201), and when a 9 hit the turn, Jeff hit the rail and jetmekk shipped the Full Tilt Bounty and T-shirt.  Thanks again to Jeff for joining the show and the tournament.</p>
<p>The bubble burst when bigbadlex (@Alexpokerguy) was eliminated in 8th place, and the 7 remaining players were in the money, and collected valuable Player of the Series Points.   RiverAsUsual had a couple of consecutive run-ins with Chiwawa (@DeputySD) that sent the once large stack spiraling downward, until eventually RiveAsUsual got the last of their chips in with A9, only to run into Chiwawa’s AQ.   Without a 9, RiverAsUsual was eliminated in 7th place.</p>
<p>johnmenard1 was the next player to find the rail in pretty brutal fashion as his AK was no match for the KJ of GoofyRooster when both player flopped trip K’s, but the river spiked a J, and eliminated johnmenard1 in 6th place.</p>
<p>When play reached 5 players remaining, it was all LessonsRXtra, as Marie-Lizette eliminated the next 4 players.  First it was MrSoprano111 (@MrSoprano) who got it in with A9, and LessonsRXtra called with 55.  LessonsRXtra  won the flip to eliminate MrSoprano in 5th.  A few hands later, LessonsRXtra called the 4-bet shove of Chiwawa and had a big lead with TT vs. A9.  The tens held, and Chiwawa was eliminated in 4th place.  Then, jetmekk got the money in on an Ace high flop with AK, but ran into a flopped set of Jacks by LessonsRXtra, eliminating jetmekk in 3rd place.</p>
<p>When heads up play began, LessonsRXtra held an almost 3 to 1 chip lead on GoofyRooster, and the heads up play wouldn’t last too long.  GoofyRooster got the last of his stack in with Kh-4d, and LessonsRXtra made the call with Qc-7d.  The board ran out 6d-3d-Ad-Ts-9d giving both players a flush, but it was LessonsRXtra that had the higher flush and locked up the win.  Here’s how the final 7 players finished:</p>
<ol>
<li>LessonsRXtra (@MarieLizette) &#8211; $96.25</li>
<li>GoofyRooster (@_Desperado) &#8211; $57.75</li>
<li>jetmekk (@Barry201) &#8211; $41.25</li>
<li>chiwawa (@DeputySD) &#8211; $30.25</li>
<li>MrSoprano111 (@MrSoprano) – $22.00</li>
<li>Johnmenard1 &#8211; $16.50</li>
<li>RiverAsUsual &#8211; $11.00</li>
</ol>
<p>The TPTCS continues this Sunday on Full Tilt Poker with Event #4, a $10+1 Seven Card Stud Hi/Low event hosted by Full Tilt Poker Pro <strong><em><a href="http://www.fulltiltpoker.com/esther-rossi">Esther Rossi</a></em></strong>.  Congratulations again to LessonsRXtra (@MarieLizette)!</p>

<h4>· Phil Ivey, Tom “Durrrr” Dwan, and Patrik Antonius venturing into poker coaching</h4>
<h4>· Ali Eslami (@indigoae) and his Los Angeles cash games at the Commerce Casino</h4>
<h4>· The win at the $10k WSOP-C</h4>
<h4>· The Polaris Poker Bot, and Botting in online poker</h4>
<h4>· The amazing story of Chad Brown</h4>
<p>And so many more topics.  Ali joined us for the duration of the show, making it one of the best shows in the history of the TPT Live Show.</p>
<p>In the tournament, it was IamAfter5 who finished with the most chips, agreeing to a chop with TJR2121.  Because IamAfter5 had the most chips, he was awarded the win.  But with his 15th place finish, it was Drizztdj (@Drizztdj) who secured enough points to earn the outright win in the March monthly leaderboard.  Congratulations!</p>
<p>Next month the <a href="http://twitterpokertour.com/tptcs/" target="_blank">Twitter Poker Tour Championship Series</a> gets underway beginning this Sunday with Event #1, a $10 Pot Limit Omaha Tournament hosted by Aaron Bartley (@gambleab).  Don&#8217;t miss any of the events as we&#8217;ll be giving away thousands in cash prizes as overlays to our players.</p>

<p>Later in the show we were joined by professional Poker Player Lauren Kling (@LaurenKling), who was fresh off of her 29th place finish in the WPT LAPC Main Event ($37,260).  Our conversation scanned a wide array of topics from her cash at the 2010 Main Event (565th place for $24,079), some of her online scores, and how she got started playing poker.</p>
<p>In the TPT Event, chubby who defeated @01Hetfield heads up to claim the Week 2 event, and pull himself neck and neck with @hittingpoints for 1st place in the monthly leaderboard, after hittingpoints followed up his win last week with another final table performance (finishing in 9th place).</p>
<p>Join us this Thursday for the third 3rd week of the March Leaderboard and stay tuned as we continue to release more information on the Twitter Poker Tour Championship Series on Full Tilt Poker.</p>

<p>As we mentioned before, the TPT Live Show was joined by @whojedi as we discussed all of the upcoming poker events such as The November 9 Reunion at Foxwoods, his recent trip to the World Series of Poker Circuit Event at Choctaw Casino in Durant, Oklahoma, and the upcoming World Poker Tour Los Angeles Poker Classic that is just around the corner.  Jay stayed with us for the duration of the show as we chatted about the news items for the week, including giving our review of the Bluff Magazine Readers Choice award recipients.</p>
<p>Next week starts a brand new leaderboard for the month of February and we&#8217;ll have all new guests as well as some live updates from the LAPC event at the Commerce Casino (and possibly a TPT Live Show from the Commerce as well).  Stay tuned.</p>

<p>Day 3 of the North American Poker Tour began with a bang as several short stacks looked to either double up, or go home.  What started with 81 remaining players became 22 fewer by the end of the first level of play, and the flurry of eliminations didn’t let up from there. Bust outs were happening at a quick enough pace that the line at the payout desk continued to be busy all day, until we arrived at just 34 players, and play cooled down a bit.</p>
<p>During those first few levels, we lost some key names in the tournament including Shane Schleger (75th), Tom Marchese (74th), Josh Brikis (72nd), Christina Lindley (63rd), Phil Laak (59th), Gavin Griffin (58th), Carter Gill (57th), and Bryn Kenney (49th).</p>
<p>As play slowed, we started to see some of the stacks in the tournament grow, including the stack of Christopher Demaci.  By the time the night was through, Demaci ended the day as our chip leader with 3,783,000 chips.  A common name in the Los Angeles poker scene, Demaci has 3 WPT LA Poker Classic cashes to his name, a California State Poker Championship cash as well, and can now add the Los Angeles NAPT cash to his resume.  The Stanton, CA native has more than $274k in total live cashes to his name, as he looks to add to that total with a possible $725,000 1st place prize at the NAPT should he go on to win.</p>
<p>But standing in his way is most notably Jason Mercier.  The Team PokerStars Pro ended his day 3rd in chips with a very healthy 2,150,000, securing a return to the Bicycle Casino for day 4 with a great shot at making his first NAPT Main Event Final Table.  The NAPT has been good to Mercier who won the $25,000 High Roller Shootout at Mohegan Sun earlier this year, leaving Mercier a little conflicted.  The one downside to his deep run here at the main, is that Mercier will miss the Television event of the $25,000 Bounty Shootout at the Crystal Casino.  As for the television portion, there are still rumors that the final table may be moved to the Crystal as well for filming.</p>
<p>Other notables that survived the day include 2006 WSOP Main Event 3rd place finisher Michael Binger, who rounded out the days action with a 2,026,000 stack, good for 4th in chips, and 2010 WSOP Main Event 15th place finisher Matt Affleck, who closed the day with 447,000 chips.  Also still in the field are PokerStars pro’s Anh Van Nguyen (834,000) and George Lind (538,00).</p>
<p>The 19 remaining players will resume action at 1pm PST at the Bicycle Casino and play down to a final table of 8 today.  Here are the Table Draws and Chip Counts:</p>

		<itunes:summary>Day 3 of the North American Poker Tour began with a bang as several short stacks looked to either double up, or go home.  What started with 81 remaining players became 22 fewer by the end of the first level of play, and the flurry of eliminations didn’t let up from there.
