Joe "MrSoprano111" Simmons

A husband for 10 years, and a  father of 3 boys, Joe “MrSoprano111” Simmons has been an immovable force in the Twitter Poker Tour Thursday night points events.  Through his last 17 TPT events, Joe has been at the Final Table 10 times, including 2 runner up finishes, and 3 TPT victories.  In the final two weeks of Season 4, Joe played some of his best poker yet as he went 2nd place in week 11, and 4th place in week 12 to secure the Season 4 overall points championship as the TPT season 4 best player.

A change in scoring format in October didn’t phase Joe as it saw his success in the TPT carried over to the new monthly leader board races. Joe finished 1st place in the TPT in both weeks 2 and 4 in the Thursday Night Monthly Leader Board Races to take an impossible to overcome lead into week 5, securing him as the player of the Month in October as well.  Joe’s play earned him added cash for the 1st place victory as well as an extension of his membership to DeucesCracked, the online poker training site.

Joe’s dominance of field sizes of the size of the TPT should really come as no surprise.  Joe is a regular at his Friday night home game in New Jersey, where for a $20 buy in, anywhere between 10 to 30 players regularly meet to play No Limit Hold Em’ tournaments.  At the home game, the guys sigh as Joe sits at their table as they all know its going to be a long night for them.  He’s taken first place in the home game tournament multiple times.

But Joe is no stranger to larger tournament fields either.  In fact Joe recently struck gold in the lower stakes on Full Tilt Poker’s $10,000 Guarantee Daily Dollar, making the final table of the massive Double Stacked event, and eventually finishing in 5th place out of the 9563 entrants in the event.  Running pocket 5’s into T-9 all in pre flop, Joe’s opponent rivered an eventual 9 to send Joe to the rail with a $350 prize.  Not bad a bad result for a $1 entry.  Joe has also run deep in the Daily Dollar Re-buy Tournament, once finishing that event in 34th out of 4877 entries, and also has a 38th place finish in the $12,500 Knock Out Guarantee, out of a field with 973 players.

Primarily a cash game player, Joe prefers to play live games, with his home casino being the Tropicana in Atlantic City.  Joe is a regular at the $1/$2 No Limit game, where he almost always comes away a winner.

You can follow Joe on twitter as @MrSoprano, and you can also find him on Thursday Nights in the Twitter Poker Tour, and you can also play against him in the Bad Beat on Cancer Charity Tournament on November 15th, on Full Tilt Poker.
