I've been reading all these posts and it seems pretty much that everyone's in agreement with the one-table playoff. I do think that there should be more chips given to the higher point leaders. They do it in many events and leagues. Each place should get something. 6-handed due to the relatively small (still) size of the league.
Prizes are certainly up to the sponsors and the TPT powers that be. As for a TPT Europe, let's cross that bridge when we come to it. if it gets started for season three, they can have their playoff and we can have ours and then those two champs can play heads-up for the World TPT title ;)

I like the idea that @fleapid (Paul) suggested. Leave this year as is. But next year plan on an special playoff tourney that could include the top 9 from each league. We would have the MTT format. I am just not sure which site you would use. There are some of our group that only play on PS and some on FTP but not both. Not sure how we would accomodate those people?

If someone doesn't have money on one of the sites, we can just do player transfers to make it work. We do this at tilttraders.com, and I've done this for @LaBangBang before.
Example:
You have money on Stars but not Full Tilt. You transfer me 5.50 on stars, I transfer you 5.50 on Full Tilt. You play the tourney, win it, and send me the prize.
Just kidding on the prize part.
So, how would we handle the variable chip counts? I didn't think PokerStars or Full Tilt could do that?

Yeah, there's the rub. You can't start with variable chip sizes on the sites we alternate on.
Another thing to consider is that in order to do this, there has to be an understanding that the week after the season concludes there is a one event playoff. If you can't make it, too bad. And you have to have an account on the site we choose for the playoff.

I think that if a player has performed well enough to the point that their near the top of the leader board, it means that they've figured out how to play on both sites. I guess that it's matmatically possible to qualify by placing late in tournaments every week, but lets be honest. This should be a prize that is awarded to players that are playing in the events.
Lets just pick a site (I vote for FT) and have a private tourney for the finalists. I like the KO idea too.

I like the playoff idea. I don't have a problem with everyone starting out with the same number of chips. On some WPT shows, I have seen that they sometimes will have only one prize for the top winner. Something to think about.

@cpr seems to want a chip advantage and said every other sport gives an advantage to those who finish the regular season best. While this is sort of true it really isnt.
College Football – Conf championship on neutral site, National championship on neutral site.
College Basketball – Read Above
College Baseball – Read Above
NFL – Superbowl is played a predetermined nuetral site.
MLB – Home is determined by who wins the all star game.
NBA – The only sports besides hockey that is not a sport to givethe best team home court in the finals.
Nascar – Allway played on neutral ground
Tennis – See Nascar
Golf – See Nascar
Soccer – World Cup played at predetermined nuetral site.
So as you can see one sport out of the 9 most watched sports in north america actually gives an advantage to the team who finishes the regular season the best.
I think we should take top 9 Double stack it and do a 10 dollar entry.

My point had nothing to do with the “championship game” so to speak. It was the playoffs as a whole. MLB, NFL, NBA, NHL all reward the best team(s) by setting them against the weaker team (for the most part) and/or a bye week. The point is that your path to the championship game is slightly easier based upon your finish in the regular season.
I actually don't care one way or the other. Some people on twitter and in this post have brought up stack size leveling. I am just trying to facilitate the conversation If the final playoff system is something that we can come to a consensus on then it's all good.
How about this for a formula:
- Starting Season3
- Top 9 point finishers will be invited
- $10 buyin NL Doublestack
- #1 Point leader picks site to play on (Stars/FTP) (though I don't believe you can do a private dbl stack on Stars, I'll email support)
- Season3 prizes will be given out according to finish in playoff. (For instance if there are prizes set aside for top 4 point winners, then 1-4 in the playoff get those prizes.)
- Playoff event is played the week after the final event of season.
- Must have a twitter id to be invited.
If you don't have a twitter id or can't make the event, the next point total leader in line gets your spot.
Edit: Details of the playoff system have been taken mostly from @swyyft's posts, I'm corraling them all here for completeness.

The other option is we can have a TPT All Star compitition on the sunday after TPT Season concludes. We determine the winner via stats and then we play an all star game with said rules with the top 9 getting an invite and if someone bows out we go to the next highest person. This might be a good compromise.
Or we can try this for this season and if we like it we can add it as championship next season, although i wont be in it this season unless i paly more tpt events.

Keep in mind, that poker is unlike the other major sports, and should be viewed by different criteria.
I like the idea awarding prizes to the top (enter number here based on prizes available) prizes via the TLB points. In much the same way, the WSOP already embraces this by having a WSOP Player of the Year (last year it was Eric Lindgren) and the prize is given to the first place finisher.
But I also like the idea of a TPT tournament of champions, where we collect every tourney champ and the top (insert whatever number) of finishers for a #TPT T.O.C. Or set a bar in the points and say something like "everyone who reaches 400 points on the TLB is eligible to participate in the TPT TOC." I'd like to see that one be a $10 buy in deep stack tournament. My two cents :)

I definitely like the Player of the Year aspect, it motivates people to try to play a lot of the events and do well consistently. (also, I'm in the lead right now)
If we can find the sponsors, fleapid's idea is great. Reward the top X, AND have a tournament of champions. Now, how do we get media coverage? Someone call GSN.
