As of right now, we are planning on having the Season4 Finale on Sunday September 27th at 5PM ET.
The top 9 players from the TPT leader board and the top 9 players from the TPTE leader board will play in an invitation only event with a $5+$1 buyin (you pay the buy in).
We are going to add a Full Tilt Poker Sunday Brawl token to the prize pool for the winner of the final event ($256 value).
Final Event Participants
Since there is overlap between players in the two leagues we plan to determine the 18 players invited as so:
- The top 9 players in the TPT are in.
- The top 9 players in the TPTE not already invited via the TPT leader board are in.
That seems like the only way to do it. I am erring on the side of the TPTE participants since it is harder for them to participate in both leagues as many TPT'ers do. (See this post for a rebuttal to this point)
Additional Notes
The prizes described on the Season4 Info Page will be awarded according to the standing in the leader boards, not the final event. The only prize up for grabs in the final event is the Sunday Brawl token.
Post any questions, comments, whatevers below. Later!

If you absolutely/positively know you can't make the final event, let me know if you want me to give your spot to the next person in line.

If you finish in the top 9 of each I will buy you entry into a freeroll of your choice.

We are going to shoot for Sunday October 3rd so that we have enough time to schedule the event. We won't know who is eligible to play until after the last Thursday events, Tilt may not have enough time to get the event schedule for that Sunday.

If it's Sunday October 3rd, I will probably be out depending on the time. I'm at the charity event for Devonshire PALS in the evening, and I have another charity event ("Light the Night Walk for Cancer") earlier in the day.

@CoolWhipFlea, making your $6 donation to our prize pool would also be charitable.

I'd make the $6 donation to the prize pool too. And if I end up dead money, so be it. I'm here for the community, not for the money. (although, winning a seat in this Tourney would be really freaking cool too).

@CoolWhipFlea, way to take that really seriously.
Let me remind you and everyone else that you are ahead of me on the leaderboard…
Are you beginning to see the irony?
Shall I explain further?

OK, so it has been proposed that we just setup the event and give out the password to those that qualify as opposed to having Full Tilt allow you entry by screen name.
If we do this, we can have the event on the originally scheduled September 27th.
It will be severely frowned upon to distribute the password to ANYONE at all. I would imagine the other 17 players that didn't slip the password would be pretty ape-shit at the one that did. That might be be enough of a deterrent
Thoughts?

DM/E-mail the passwords a short period of time before the tourney starts.
This will prevent people from registering early, if they are going to be a few minutes late, but it will cut down on the chances of a leak.

I agree that it should be the TPT spots that fill in the final 3 spots. I mean, 9 places for the TPTE is cool, and then the remaining places should go to the larger fields and the main participants.

Yeah, this is what I have been saying all along. The TPTE only has like 4 regulars. So, to award 9 places from it is going to be people who rarely even played. Obviously it doesn’t make much sense to give them a shot at the Sunday Brawl just because they played a TPTE event or 2. Where as there are a lot of regulars in the main TPT that would be more deserving of the chance. There should be at least 5 event minimum or something to get into the final event.
Edit:
After looking at the TPTE leaderboard, there are 3 or 4 players in the top 9 that have played 4 events or less. Sometimes only 2. I think it would be better to give 12 seats to the TPT and then fill the last 6 from the TPTE. The gap between 1st and 9th for the TPTE is 200 points. That's about the same gap between 1st and 14th in the TPT. This point is even more significant when you consider how difficult it is to get huge gaps in the TPTE due to the lack of entrants every week.

The first person to bring up anything about the way we will draw for the final event was coolwhip via email. unless I missed it elsewhere.
Since the intention was to do the best 9 from each we will try to adhere to that as much as possible.
- So we will take top 9 from TPT
- Players from top 9 of TPTE that are not already in TPT.
- Whatever spots are left go to the next in line in the TPT
I want to try to move the field goal as little as possible here. Rewritting the rules of the game at the end of the season isn't always a good practice.
