We have a few ideas in mind to make this uneccassary. It's tough to draw a crowd when the prize pool is doesn't represent the total buyins – rake. We are looking into money added events as well as monthly tokens to bigger buyin events for points leaders.

I know I’m a “noob” here. I thought the intention of this thread was on how to increase the membership. I like the idea of playing a game with the same guys and not have to fold every all the time, because there is someone pushing all-in every hand during the first level.

I was just throwing out ideas that might increase (serious players) membership and maybe something might stick to the wall, or give someone an even better idea. I never meant to offend, and I hope my chat during play doesn’t offend either. Nothing I say is in a mean spirited vein.

@UMJM

I think you may have misinterpreted my post! Sorry about that. You didn't offend me at all and I thought you brought up some very valid points in your previous post. Sorry for the confusion!

@cprpoker

I wasn't offended by your post cprpoker. it was "4Get 2 4bet Me"'s post. And I wasn't even offended by his post. I was trying to give some ideas and the "noob" , "random fish", "bingo Players" from 4Get…. well, let's just say I'm a "noob" here. and he made me feel like my ideas were unwelcome. that's all. I have nothing against 4Get2BetMe. I actually like playing poker with him. I've played with him twice now at the late night Fridays

your post was OK by me.

I'll be quiet now.Cool

@UMJM

I did not mean to offend you or anyone else. I wasn’t referencing you or anything you said in your post. I am sorry if you thought I was.

All I was trying to say is, if skill and competitive poker are not the goals of the Twitter Poker Tour, then I was confused and that is my fault.

I am looking for decent prize pools and tough competition.

I have nothing against people simply playing for fun and not taking it too seriously. That’s just not what I am looking for.

So from here on out, I wont offer my opinions, since my goals do not coincide with the TPT’s. Which is fine.

Good luck.

2. Competition level far exceeds the buyin. There is way too much shit talking for a $5 buyin. Busting each others balls is one thing but flaming noobs is uneccessary.

@4get

This may have been taken the wrong way. We want skill and competition but without the trash talking and flaming. We made it a $5 buy in so we could have fun with it. $5 seems like the right amount to be attractive to newer players that are trying to learn the game and get better and more experienced players that want to relax and play poker.

Yeah, that is fine. I understand and have no problem with that. I probably just take things too seriously.

I'll try to relax for the TPT.

Hi there – I just joined up, I stumbled across the tournament in the private lobby.  It looks like a pretty good game so far, even if I took a big hit on a bad river card early on.

Anyway, I agree with the general sentiment here: I browse the private lobbies to find regular, solid, interesting games.  I want a game where I'll get to know people over the weeks and they'll get to know me.  I want a game where the average person is better than the average in a public tournament.

If it matters any, I'm happy to play in games of 18 or more players, but feel that somewhere aorund 90 the "get to know people" vibe would wear off.  Also, I don't mind a $5+1 so much just for that reason, the extra fifty cents is worth it to have a more-like-home style game.

Either way, I look forward to playing with the group regularly and hope I can learn a bit in the next few weeks and make a run in the new season.
