This is a free tool you can download that helps you calculate equity in a hand. If you know the app well enough, you can use it while you play. Otherwise it is a great tool for analyzing your play afterwards to see if you made the correct play.

Another thing it is useful for is hand reading, putting your villain on a range of hands.

Simple Example:

1. Villain raises you from early position preflop and you know he raises 10% of his hands.

2. In Pokerstove you can set Player1 to 10% to see what the top 10% of hands look like: 77+,A9s+,KTs+,QTs+,AJo+,KQo

3. Then based upon the flop and subsequent streets you can narrow this list down to villains possible holdings for the given action.
